Introductory Game GAG (10 minutes)
Area: 15×15 or smaller
• Four Goal Game – Teams attack one end only however can choose to attack either of the two goals.
• Play 3v3 with Neutral (4v3)
What are the advantages of having the extra player? What can your shape be like? How many lines can you break? Can you start over?
Above:
• Live in the Triangle
• When we have three defenders we are able to emphasize Living In The Triangle (THROUGH)…with the fourth attacker we can emphasize breaking the line to go AROUND
ABC’S Time: Max 7 minutes.
• Coach’s Choice – Try something different, experiment.

Technical Exercise (5 minutes)
Area: 15×15 or smaller
Free Dribble
• Players touch every step while moving around the area finding space between the other dribblers. Use the cones as defenders and roll across the cones.
• Players roll ball across the body as they dribble.
• Roll then step over with the other foot.
• Roll UNDER THE BODY
• Roll and HOP as the foot comes down.
• TURNS: Stop turn, Inside and Outside of Foot Twist Off, Slide, Cruyff

Technical Exercise (10 minutes)
Area: 15×15 or smaller
1v1 – Attack space behind the defender
• Use a walking defender to start.
Use a ‘slide’ to face the defender quickly then attack them at pace. Player may have to run away from walking defender to get space or shield then slide in order to face the defender.
Use rolls to get across then behind…..FINISH your 1v1 by getting into the space behind the defender.

GAG Opening Exercise (10 minutes)
Area: 15×15 or smaller Four Goal Game
• Teams attack one end only however can chose to attack either of the two goals.
• Play 4v3 with Neutral What are the advantages of having the extra player? What can your shape be like? How many lines can you break? Can you start over?
Above:
• Live in the Triangle
• The neutral player is breaking the line (like a FB or wide-MF in a game)
When passing the ball, which foot should you pass the ball to? Foot farthest away from the defender…the “SAFE SIDE”

Final Game (Use of “Start Again/Start Over”)
CAN PLAY TWO GOALS PER TEAM OR ONE GOAL PER TEAM …. COACH’S CHOICE.
Area: 15×15 or smaller 5v5 Attack Least Protected Goal
• In a game of 5v5 etc four goals are set up, two in each corner of the field several yards from the sideline.
• Switch the POINT OF ATTACK (AROUND) so they can attack the other side of the field or the Least Protected Goal.
• Use of turns and Shielding should be encouraged to keep the ball and “START OVER or START AGAIN” (‘start the attack again’). When we play it back what do we call this player? PLATFORM Why? Player facing forward who can play forward.
• A player must be deep (as deep as possible) and must be the RELEASE player for their team. Have them move from side to side as they play the ball to the other side but remain deep.
• If this player goes forward, another player must drop back and be the player giving depth. FILL SPACES
• How will STARTING OVER help you? How will Flattening Out help you? Opens the curtains so we can play through or around.
