JUGGLING WITH THE INSIDE OF THE FEET


 

Remember, there are key components of juggling which are consistent with nearly every other technique in the game. Here is an example:

Juggling With The Inside Of The Foot:

When a ball is played toward a player in the air, they can choose to use their chest, thigh, laces or ‘find the bounce’ to control the ball. Or they may need to take the speed of the ball away with the inside of the foot and then ‘find the bounce’.

1. The ball gets ramped up in the air (inside the player’s controlling space) as it comes toward the player quickly,
2. The Player then ‘finds the bounce’ to control the ball on the ground.

This position of ramping the ball up can be practiced by juggling with the inside of the foot. All pieces of juggling apply with regard to posture (shoulders back and hips forward to stay tall), however the player now makes contact with the inside of the foot (more specifically, the back half of the foot closer to the ankle).

* Shoulders Back & Hips Forward – Consistent posture in most techniques that we teach. Juggling is part of the game as we mentioned, it makes the game three-dimensional, so you will be using the parts of juggling during a game in combination perhaps with other techniques … stay tall, keep your shoulders back and your hips forward.

** Relax & Walk It Out (right then left) – Players must relax. In anything in life, if we are stressed or too tight, we cannot perform at our best. Shoulders back, hips forward and Walk It Out. This simply means alternate from right to left foot and as if you were walking … in fact, try to “
