A MESSAGE FROM EPIC

First, let us say how thrilled we are to be assisting club coaches in Canada with coach education and coach support.

On our good to great journey, it is critical that we continue to work together with the community. We know that youth sport organizations such as your club have a history of great individuals committed to the growth of players and the game. Only by pushing and pulling each other upwards will we help an environment which was once a hotbed of National Team Talent, again become a significant player in the provincial and national player development structure.

Regardless of your playing or coaching background, your clubs are in great appreciation that you have chosen to take part, giving up your time, to help with this program.

We learn from one another and grow together. This is what we tell the players on our teams, and we believe this is the same within our coaching. This document has been put together for sharing and for helping with your experience as much as it is the player experience.

Coaches will use this site in different ways. Some will read every page on the site. Some will not. Some may choose to use the lesson plans throughout the season. Some coaches will take the activities and learn them as they go then adapt each activity to a specific need. Others will prefer to plan their own practices completely because of their soccer or education background. Some will open up the website just before the practce session because they ran out of time to plan (and this happens to all of us), and voila, a lesson plan or activity is there to be run. It doesn’t matter how you use it, we simply hope that you take the ideas and you share with the players, and we hope it helps your experience.
