Assessing Search Actions (Vision & Awareness) – Rubric

Players must use the information that they receive through their eyes to assess the soccer surroundings. Purposeful or intentional searching is critical to player success in making a decision and executing decisions. When players SEARCH they will find that key information. This information leads to ACTION. These actions we call Search Actions and the general rubric for these Search Actions are described below. You will also find individual rubrics for each Search Action by selecting the appropriate reference below.

Rubrics use a set of criteria to evaluate a player learning. These rubrics consist of a fixed measurement scale and detailed description of the characteristics for each level of performance. The descriptions focus on the quality of the product or performance and not the quantity.
