Combination Passing (Basic Actions)

Begin with ‘opposite actions’ between the two blue middle players…ensure that there is one player on each side. One player backs up and is now the longer pass while the other player goes forward for a short pass. Variations described below.

1. First Player Platform Combination
Player passes to the blue coming Short > the original passer builds a Platform to receive the pass back from the player who has come short >> the next pass goes to the player who has backed up to be Long > the short blue player travels to build a Platform for the long blue player >> the Platform then passes to the progressing red player who started the sequence >> the red player will play a 1-2 with the end player. The red player who started the sequence remains at the far end and the two blue players remain in the middle for a designated time.

2. Overlap Variation

Player passes to the blue player backing up long > the other blue player builds a platform for the player who has received the pass >> the red player has run around the outside of the player who had moved short (and is now the platform) >> from the platform the pass is played to the overlapping red player. The red player plays a 1-2 with the end player. The red player who started the sequence remains at the far end and the two blue players remain in the middle for a designated time.
