Camper In The Tent (Two Player Activity – Modified for separation)
This activity is typically performed with pairs all together in a large circle and many movements involve running around that large circle or interacting with the groups beside them in a circle. This is modified for separation and for control of the group.
– Within each pair: One player stands (The Tent) and the other player sits with legs crossed in front of them (The Camper).
– On the leaders command the Camper/Tent perform the activities prescribed.
Example of Instruction: The leader may call, ‘When I say Go, Camper leave the tent by crawling back between your partners legs then do 5 jumping-jacks, then crawl back into the tent and sit down as fast as you can’.
– This would be a good explanation to begin with then the players all know how they leave the tent. Once they know this you can simply say, ‘When I say Go, Camper leave the tent, do 5 jumping-jacks, run around the tent 3 times and then go back into your tent’.
– Like our game 7-UP the leader can change or add to the activities.
– After each turn the Camper and Tent switch positions.
Other potential activities leaders can add: ‘Leap-frog partner and let them leap-frog you’, ‘inside of the foot taps with partner’, ‘high-10 partner’, ‘burpees’, ‘touch all four corners of your area with your foot’, etc.
